The Franklin County Rebelettes lost to the Battle Ground Academy Lady Wildcats 5-2 at Crockett Park Friday in their second game for the Brentwood Invitational.
The Lady Wildcats took an early lead in the contest with an attempted rally from the Rebelettes in the fourth inning coming up short.
The Lady Wildcats scored a pair of runs in the top of the second to jump ahead on the scoreboard early.
The first four batters for BGA in the bottom of the fourth reached base with three of them coming around to score to put the Rebelettes in a 5-0 hole.
The Rebelettes loaded the bases with two outs in the bottom of the fourth before a two-run single from Natalie Hagood got them on the board.
Madi Morris then reached base on an error to load the bases once more, but a strikeout ended the frame before any more runs could be scored.
The Rebelettes were retired in order in the bottom of the fifth with the time limit for the contest expiring to seal the three-run loss.
Dalayna Marshall pitched a complete game for the Rebelettes with tree strikeouts, eight hits, three walks and five runs allowed.
With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 4-13 on the season.
Fairview 10, Rebelettes 4
The Rebelettes lost to the Fairview Lady Jackets 10-4 at Crockett Park earlier in the day on Friday in their first game for the Brentwood Invitational.
The Lady Jackets scored the first nine runs of the contest with the Rebelettes not being able to fully bounce back from the sizable deficit.
The Lady Jackets took advantage of multiple errors from Franklin County in the bottom of the first to score six total runs in the frame.
Another three runs were scored by Fairview in the bottom of the second as the Rebelettes trailed 9-0 before they recorded their first hit of the day.
The Rebelettes notched their first run in the top of the third as Kaitlyn Montgomery reached base on an error, moved to second on a wild pitch, advanced to third on a Mollye Casey flyout and scored on an RBI groundout from Natalie Hagood.
The Rebelettes scored three more runs in the top of the fourth with Kaylee Morris and Alyssa Sherrill hitting consecutive RBI doubles and Jocilyn DeSmet hitting into an RBI groundout to make it a 9-4 game.
However, the Lady Jackets scored another run in the bottom of the fourth, and the game hit its time limit before the inning concluded as the Rebelettes lost by six.
Marshall pitched a complete game for the Rebelettes with three strikeouts, eight hits, two walks, two earned runs and eight unearned runs allowed.
With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 4-12 on the season.
They will next play Saturday in a continuation of the Brentwood Invitational at Crockett Park. Their first game for the day will be against Green Hill High School at 9:30 a.m.
