KINGSPORT — Tegan Begley gave Dobyns-Bennett’s baseball team another walk-off win Thursday night.
His one-out single in the eighth inning scored Tray Windham, lifting the Indians past David Crockett 11-10 at J. Fred Johnson Stadium.
It was Begley’s fourth hit of the game, as he finished 4-for-5 with a double and two RBIs with two runs scored.
Leadoff batter Andrew Reilly went 3-for-6 with a home run, finishing a triple shy of the cycle. Jackson Bishop doubled twice and went 3-for-3 with three RBIs, with Mason Kerkhoff and Cooper Reed (3 RBIs) adding two hits apiece.
Baker Correll got the win in relief, fanning two in the last 1 1/3 innings.
Jake Fox (double) and Nolan Street both went 2-for-4 and drove in three runs apiece to lead the Pioneers, who collected 12 hits to D-B’s 16. Marcus Greenway, Ronnie Hall and Jackson Whaley all finished with a pair of hits.
Union 9, Lee High 4
BIG STONE GAP — Trailing 4-2 in the bottom of the sixth, Union rallied with seven unanswered runs. Sam Whitman, Kam Bishop and Braxton Bunch all singled in runs during the frame.
Eli Pleasant, Whitman (2 RBIs) and Bunch had two hits apiece for the Bears. Bishop struck out four in the last three innings to get the win.
Konner Early went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored to lead the Generals.
Abingdon 11, Ridgeview 0
CLINTWOOD — Judge Dillow went yard for the Falcons, who used six pitchers with Beckett Dotson getting the start and the win. Aiden Smith went 2-for-3 with a double from the nine hole.
South Greene 2, Volunteer 1
GREENEVILLE — Dustin Crum struck out six batters and finished his complete-game effort with six scoreless innings on the mound, scattering five hits. Seth Franklin went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Brycen Feagins went 2-for-3 and scored for Volunteer, which got five Ks and and six-hit effort from Luke Armstrong.
Tennessee High 13, Sullivan East 1
BLUFF CITY — Chandler Myers hit a triple and a double, driving in two runs for the Vikings. Preston Feagins, Russell Blevins and Gage Graziano added two hits apiece.
Jimmy Phipps struck out two in the first four innings to get the win.
Zach Johnson drove in Peyton Lingerfelt for East’s only run.
SOFTBALL
Volunteer 9, Greeneville 7
GREENEVILLE — Jayden Ford went 4-for-5 and scored twice from her leadoff spot, while No. 2 hitter Bryleigh Salyer went 3-for-5. Salyer and Jenna Thomas both drove in three runs for Volunteer, which outhit Greeneville 18-11. Haley Russell, Abby Fisher, Thomas, Rylee Smith and Averi Weston had two hits each.
Elise Bous fanned two and went the distance for the win.
Lydia Darnell homered and doubled for Greeneville, which got two hits apiece from Madison Carpenter and Brynlee Jones.
Wise Central 10, Ridgeview 0
Kaelyn Dales tied a Central record with 13 strikeouts in her two-hit shutout. She also hit 2-for-4 with a grand slam.
Union 4, Abingdon 1
ABINGDON — Aliyah Davidson pitched a three-hitter and struck out four for the Lady Bears. Braleigh Mullins hit a solo home run, and Kynlee Johnson went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.
Muriel Dillow hit an RBI triple for Abingdon.

NORTON — Jordan Mooney tossed a no-hitter, striking out 14 and walking just two while the offense collected 23 hits with 25 RBIs. And she helped her cause by hitting 4-for-4.
Shay Henderson hit a grand slam and a double, driving in seven runs for the Lady Raiders. Mackayla McCurdy (triple), Presley Hall and Savannah Adams had three hits each, while Jordan Bohnert added two.
Elizabethton 9, Sullivan East 1
ELIZABETHTON — Sadie Williams finished just a triple shy of the cycle, hitting 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored for the Lady Cyclones. Emma O’Quinn drove in two runs and went 3-for-4.
Lela Byrd, who doubled, struck out 11 and allowed six hits over the first 5 2/3 innings.
Olivia Ashbrook (double) and Carly Bradford both hit 2-for-4 to lead the Lady Patriots.
Cloudland 7, Twin Springs 5
ROAN MOUNTAIN — Reagan Turbyfill and Jayla Harper hit back-to-back RBI triples in the sixth inning to break a 5-5 deadlock and lift Cloudland to victory. Saharra McKinney went 2-for-4 with a two-run bomb to lead the Lady Highlanders offensively.
Reagan Turbyfill went 5 2/3 innings , before Ryan Turbyfill finished the job in the circle.
Aubrey Meade went 2-for-3 with a double and a home run for Twin Springs. Makenzie Gillenwater (double), Sarah Davidson and Aubrey Collins added two hits apiece. Meade’s two-run bomb gave the Lady Titans a 5-4 lead in the sixth.
Tennessee High 2, Unicoi County 0
ERWIN — Carly Compton struck out 12 and pitched a one-hit shutout for league-leading Tennessee High. Macie Strouth and Addie Wilhoit both doubled, with Abigail Haga driving in two runs.
Faith Bennett had the Lady Devils’ only hit, and Aaliyah Engle struck out three in her three-hit effort.
Claiborne 14, Cherokee 11
ROGERSVILLE — Allie Jones hit a triple and a double for Claiborne, which got three hits from Jacey Ferguson. Jones, Jaycee Hall and Kinley Mullins drove in three runs apiece.
Marley Sweet struck out five in the 11-hit win.
Kennedy Dishner homered twice for Cherokee, driving in five runs and finishing 4-for-4. Rachel Young (triple) and Kaylee Cinnamon had two hits each.
BOYS SOCCER
David Crockett 2, Tennessee High 1
BRISTOL, Tenn. — Diego Cook scored both goals for Crockett, both after the Vikings had taken a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute. Cook’s first goal came after a Tennessee High goal kick in the 60th minute.
And off a corner kick, Cook delivered the winning goal with Dawson Callahan on the assist.
Maryville 2, Science Hill 0
JEFFERSON CITY — Despite 13 shots on goal, the Hilltoppers just couldn’t connect in Thursday’s game at Carson-Newman University. Maryville, meanwhile, managed just four shots but connected on two of them.
Elizabethton 9, Sullivan East 0
ELIZABETHTON — Reece Vernon and Riley Vernon each found the back of the net twice for the Cyclones. Connor Blevins, Tylar Jenkins, Drake Teague and Will Churchill each scored once, in addition to an own goal by the Patriots.
Reece and Riley Vernon, along with Blevins and Teague each handed out one assist.
Grainger 4, Volunteer 3
RUTLEDGE — Despite two goals from Cameron Cox, the Falcons couldn’t top district rival Grainger. Diego Mejia scored one goal and assisted another for Volunteer.
