Photo Gallery: Hampton Baseball Takes Doubleheader Over Cloudland

Hampton swept a county doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon.

The Bulldogs captured a pair of wins over Cloudland at Scotty Bunton Field Tuesday evening. Hampton won the first game with an 18-3 win while the Bulldogs captured a 20-3 win in the nightcap.

In the first game of the night, Hampton used a big third inning to pull away for the win.

After the Bulldogs plated three runs in the bottom of the first, Cloudland was able to get one of the runs back in the top of the second.

Hampton answered with four runs in the bottom frame to push the lead to 7-1 after two complete. The ‘Landers pushed two runs across in the third inning, but Hampton erupted for 11 runs to secure the win.

Jayden Kuhn was 3-for-3 with three RBI, while Chance Point was 2-for-3 with three RBI. Noah Nichols added three RBI.

Bryce Fagan ended the game with two RBI, and Chase Davenport tallied 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Walker Gouge, Jacob Stinett, and Bryson Peppers each had a hit for CHS, while Tristan Lowery added a run scored along with Gouge and Peppers.

In the second game, Cloudland opened the game with three runs in the top of the first, but Hampton answered with nine runs of their own in the home side to take the lead.

The ‘Landers were able to push two runs across in the top of the second, but Hampton was able to respond with three runs of their own.

Cloudland cut the lead to 12-8 in the fourth, but Hampton secured the win with eight runs in the home side of the fourth.

Kuhn ended the second game 3-for-4 with four RBI, and Point was 3-for-4 with three RBI. Davenport added two hits for Hampton.

Lowery went 2-for-2 with two runs scored for Cloudland, while Jacob Stinnett was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Thomas Job had two RBI for the ‘Landers.
