The Franklin County High School boys and girls tennis teams competed in a match Tuesday at Lawrence County High School with the boys winning their portion of the contest.
The tennis Rebels beat the Lawrence County Wildcats by a score of 4-3 for their third consecutive victory.
The Rebels won three of the five boys singles matches with Krish Patel beating his opponent by an 8-3 margin, William Orr picking up an 8-4 victory and Rafa Silva winning a tiebreaker set by a score of 7-4 after an 8-8 deadlock.
The other singles matches on the boys side saw Pratham Patel take a narrow 9-7 defeat and Avi Patel drop his match by a score of 8-3.
In doubles action, the team of Avi Patel and Silva beat their opposition by a score of 9-7 while the duo of Pratham Patel and Krish Patel lost their matchup by an 8-4 margin.
With the win, the Rebels improved to 4-9 on the season.
On the girls side of the match, the Rebelettes lost to the Lady Wildcats by a score of 4-3.
The Rebelettes got two of their wins for the day in singles contests as Leanna Hobbs and Jesse Burris both secured 8-4 victories.
The remaining singles matches were won by the Lady Wildcats with Camryn Ragland falling by a score of 9-7, Zoey Nice-Francis dropping her match by an 8-4 margin and Amelia Maxon taking an 8-1 loss.
Burris and Hobbs also scored a win for the Rebelettes in their doubles match together as they beat their opponents by a score of 8-2.
The team of Ragland and Nice-Francis kept pace with their doubles opponents throughout with the score tied at 8-8 late in the match, but they lost the tiebreaker set by a score of 7-4.
With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 3-10 on the season.
The FCHS boys and girls tennis teams will next compete Wednesday in a match at home against Fayetteville City High School. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
