The Trousdale County High School softball team recently added three wins to their record, pushing them to 9-3 for the season.

At home against Red Boiling Springs on April 18, the Lady Jackets caged the Bulldogs 12-2 in five innings. It was the eighth consecutive win for the Purple and Gold over the girls from the Sulfur City.

Junior Emma Holder came up with two hits, including a home run, Maddie Lee added two hits, while Kindle Berry, Leah Banks, Aubrie Wemple, Delaney Moss, Jazmyne Dunn, and Mary Linville had one hit each.

Lee was winning pitcher, as she struck out eight batters, while giving up four hits and no walks.

The following day, the Hartsville girls traveled to Baxter to face the Lady Bees and returned with a 19-8 win over their 3-A opponent.

Junior Kayleigh Dunn had a game to remember, as she went three for five, with two home runs and a double. Bailey Hines had four hits, while Cayden Ray, Banks and Jazmyne Dunn each added three.

Lee added five more strikeouts to her total. She gave up four hits and one walk.

On Tuesday, the Lady Jackets returned to district play and responded with a 5-4 win at home against Westmoreland. The hosts loaded the bases in the first inning, and senior Taren Simmons cleared them with a grand slam home run.

The Lady Jackets added another run in the second inning to take a 5-0 edge, but the Lady Eagles plated four runs in the last frame, before the Lady Jackets closed them out.

With the win, the Trousdale County girls moved to 4-1 in the district.

Holder went three for three, with one run batted in and one run scored. Kayleigh Dan garnered two hits, as Lee and Simmons had the other two hits.

Lee rang up eight strikeouts, while giving up six hits and two walks.

The Lady Jackets are scheduled to have Senior Night on Wednesday with Smith County as the opponent.
