How it Happened: Tennessee’s bullpen was elite in 3-2 win over Missouri
For the second-straight game, Tennessee had to hold on for the one-run victory over Missouri as Saturday’s 3-2 win in game three preserved the series sweep in Southeastern Conference play.
The No. 3 Vols (37-7, 15-6 SEC) earned their fourth sweep of the season and their second in their past three homestands. Tennessee has now won six-straight series. Missouri (19-26, 6-15 SEC) managed just two runs off eight hits in the ballgame and dropped its seventh-straight series in league play.
Nate Snead (7-1) earned the victory on the mound after tossing 1.2 inning sof scoreless baseball in relief. Starter Carter Rustad (4-6) is the losing pitcher on the day after allowing two runs off six hits in five innings of work.
