Back-to-back big outings from Kirby Connell helps Vols secure series sweep over Mizzou

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WCYB) — Back-to-back 3-2 wins and back-to-back clutch outings from Tennessee's Kirby Connell help the Vols secure the series sweep over SEC foe Mizzou.

This is the second consecutive home SEC sweep for the Vols who captured the win on Saturday afternoon in front of a sold out crowd.

The duo of Aaron Combs and Kirby Connell came together for the second straight day to pitch the final 3.1 innings scoreless.

Tennessee's bullpen allowed just one run over 13 innings pitched in the series.
