CLARKSVILLE, TN – After clenching the regular season title, Montgomery Central High School Indians Baseball hosted the Class 3A District 11 tournament at home at Landon and Joyce Dunn Memorial Field. MCHS went undefeated in the tournament, defeating Creek Wood in the final game and winning the District 11 Championship on Friday.

Senior Gabriel Eddington, APSU commit, led the Indians in a shut-out 10-0 victory, pitching a no-hitter against Fairview Wednesday night. The varsity defense committed no errors in the field, with the offense stealing 6 bases and the Indians showcasing the bottom of their line up, with Jackson Morris, Wyatt Bowling and Noah Suggs earning 5 of 8 hits for the night.

On Thursday, Central faced Sycamore, pulling out a 7-3 win. The Indians played well with 13 hits in the game, and a defense allowing no runs after the 2nd inning. Sophomore pitcher Jeremy Elliott earned the win from the mound, entering in the 2nd and giving up no walks and no runs.

On Friday, the Indians faced rival Creek Wood in the deciding match. Freshman Dylan Fulton earned the win, pitching 6 innings and allowing only 1 run, with a strong outfield showing, and a save by senior pitcher Sam Gullett, shutting down the 7th. The Indians came out on top, earning the championship with a 6-1 win.

Coach Todd Dunn admired the work of his players. “I am very proud of the team. It is very difficult to win a regular season and district tournament title. All the boys rose to the occasion when we needed in the tournament, and we are excited about going to the regional tournament next weekend.”

Central earned multiple well deserved spots in regular season All District and All Tournament teams. For the All District Regular Season recognized players include Dylan Fulton, Matthew Heimpel, Kaleb Cilk, and Player of the Year Gabriel Eddington. District Tournament Team players include Dylan Fulton, Landon Waters, Wyatt Bowling, Jeremy Elliott and Tournament MVP Gabriel Eddington.

MCHS Indians Baseball will play in the regional tournament May 9-10 as they battle to advance to sectionals.
