Area teams head to Spring Fling in Murfreesboro

Several area spring sports teams and athletes made their way to Murfreesboro on Monday for this week's TSSAA Spring Fling.

In Johnson City, the University High and Providence Academy baseball teams as well as the Science Hill soccer team have all qualified for state. The UH girls' and boys' tennis teams are also state tournament-bound as well as the Toppers'boys team.

In Kingsport, the Dobyns-Bennett softball team is making its first appearance in Spring Fling. They will be joined by the Track and Unified Track teams.

In Greeneville, the baseball team is looking to repeat as champs, while the boys' soccer team is hoping to avenge a loss in last year's championship game.

The Tennessee High girls tennis team has also qualified for the state as have dozens of track athletes from around the area
