Parents...Don't Wish It Away

As an aging (that sounds awful) grandparent I look back on my years as a parent and wish one thing- that I hadn't wished my kids' lives away.

It is easy as a young parent to wish for a healthy child...and then wish for a child who quits waking up at night...and then for a child who can sit up...then walks...then talks...then is potty-trained...then gets through the terrible twos...then starts pre-school...then plays T-ball...then Pop Warner...well, I think you get the idea.

There are great things and not-so-great things at every stage. Enjoy them because one day you will awaken and you are 59...or now...67.
