1. Roll Call
2. Approval of Minutes of Last Meeting
3. Sites for Tournaments and Meets
It has been the policy of the Board of Control to authorize the Executive Director to select sites and make plans for conducting regional and state tournaments or meets in golf, tennis, cross country, track and field, baseball, softball, volleyball, wrestling, soccer, and bowling.

9. Spring Fling Report
The staff will provide an update of the 2017 Spring Fling and a financial report.
10. Auditor’s Report of the 2016-2017 School Year
If available, we will provide copies of the official audit for the 2016-2017 school year to the Board of Control, along with a complete review of the auditor’s report. We will provide this information in our next meeting if the auditor has not completed the report.
11. 2017-2018 TSSAA Budget
If our audit has been completed, a proposed budget for the 2017-2018 school year will be provided.

15. A. F. Bridges Sportsmanship Awards Program
We have begun selecting the 27 member schools that will receive our sportsmanship awards for the 2016-2017 school year. A complete report will be given to Board members. The Board of Control normally allocates $27,000.00 for the athletic programs in the 27 schools with each school receiving $1,000.00.
16. NFHS Coaches Award Program
As always, there will be awards given for coaches of the year (male and female) from each state, section, and at the national level, as well as a contributor of the year. A list of our state award recipients for 2016-2017 will be given to members of the Board.

The NFHS Basketball Rules Committee approved that, by state adoption, the coaching box may be extended to 28’.
25. River’s Edge Christian Academy Requests Change in Divisions
River’s Edge Christian Academy is requesting a change in divisions due to the fact their student-athletes will be receiving need-based financial assistance in 2017-2018.
26. Bowie Reading & Learning Center Requests Change in Divisions
Bowie Reading & Learning Center is requesting a change in divisions. Their school does not currently offer any sports.
27. Intrepid College Prep: Independence Academy High School Requests TSSAA Membership
Intrepid College Prep: Independence Academy High School is located in Antioch. The school currently has 110 9th grade students, adding a grade each year. Plans are to play JV only this year. If approved, the school will be placed in
Division I, Class A, District 7 in basketball, District 8 in volleyball, girls’ soccer, and soccer, and in the Middle Section in track and field.
28. Award Rule
A review and discussion of the Award Rule and guidance from the Board as to whether or not we should narrow our scope when it comes to interpretation.

31. LEAD Southeast High School Requests TSSAA Membership
LEAD Southeast High School is located in Nashville. They are a charter school that opened in 2013. This year the school will have 9th grade with an estimated 90 students. If approved, they plan to form a cooperative agreement with LEAD Academy. They do not plan to offer any sports at their school.
32. Memphis Rise Academy High School Requests TSSAA Membership
Memphis Rise Academy High School is requesting TSSAA membership. They have been members of TMSAA and are now adding 9th grade. Plans are to add a grade each year. Their anticipated enrollment this year is 112 students. Their desire is to have approximately 448 students in four years. If approved, they plan to offer basketball, cross country, soccer, track and field, and volleyball during the 2017-2018 school year. If approved, Memphis Rise Academy will be placed in Division II, Class A, West Region, District 2 in basketball, volleyball, track and field, soccer, and cross country.
33. Southwest Early College High School Requests TSSAA Membership
Southwest Early College High School is requesting TSSAA membership. They are a charter school in Memphis with 105 9th grade students. Plans are to add a grade each year. If approved, they plan to offer cross country, volleyball, basketball (boys’ and girls’), track and field (boys’ and girls’), soccer, girls’ softball, and baseball during the 2017-2018 school year. If approved, Southwest Early College High School will be placed in Division I, Class A, District 16 in basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, and soccer, West (Small) in track and field, and Region 8 (Small) in cross country.
34. Implementation of Unified Sports
The staff has been working with Special Olympics making plans to include Unified Sports as a part of our sanctioned events. An update will be provided to the Board.
35. Proposed Changes for the State Bowling Tournaments
This item was tabled at the June meeting.
